September 18th, 2007:
NEW MESSAGE from Shea Colley. Who is Shea you ask? I didn't know either but I was about to love this girl!
Shea says:
"you do really good work, and i am trying to find someone "different" for taking my Sr. pics because everyone goes to the same places it seems like.."
Fair enough.
And what's even better is, I was sooo excited to get some senior business because, well I just LOVE senior pictures.
What I didn't know then was that I would have to wait one whole YEAR to photograph Shea. Wow, was I honored to be asked so far in advance! But forget about honored, I was NERVOUS! (haha hope it didn't show Shea)

So here we are 1 year, 3 days, and some hours later:
This gorgeous girl's photographs were a family event too...we had her parents along for both sessions and her brother joined us for a portion of our second session (images still to come). I might have even put them to work..Chad on reflectors and lights and Beth on official "hair duty." It was windy ;)



Talk about cool locations too! [Insert patting self on back] I searched far and wide to find these fun spots, but this girl doesn't photograph and tell.

NEW HEADER!

I added the new blog header today! I am really happy with how it turned out :)
Would LOVE to know what you think?!?
I wanted something that portrayed my style and some of my recent work.
I tend to neglect my blog because I post everything on my ZENFOLIO site : http://annikasphoto.zenfolio.com/
BUT, hopefully now that it is a little more personal I will be more excited about posting on the good 'ol blog!

Keeping busy with TONS of editing and replying to the rush of inquiries about FALL photos... and wow, am I excited about some of the stuff I am working on and have coming up in the next month.... Stay tuned!

The "Golden Hour" is a photographer's ideal light. Things look golden (hence the name) and beautiful in the hour of sunset, and also of sunrise.
These photos show what I found during my golden hour stroll through my parent's yard! (EDIT: My mother wanted it noted that this is the pasture behind the yard, her grass is not that tall....haha!)

The Randolph County Fair is an event I look forward to every year. The 2008 fair definitely did not disappoint! Check out the fun...

FUNESTA

Funesta is Grant Elementary School's (Columbia, MO) year-end playground party! Amy Enderle (SilverBox Photographer) invited me to join she and her family in the FUNesta activities and to photograph everyone having a good time. I had a blast just seeing the kids interactions and of course, funky hair styles.

Here is a SLIDESHOW that Amy graciously put together after wading through and editing all of my images. Thanks Amy, you're the best!

Finals got you STRESSED?!

I'm underneath piles of paperwork, notebooks, and photo files!! In case you are also feeling the pressure of finals, I am right there with you....and as you can see, so is Melissa! (above)

So, let's put on our game faces (demonstrated by Maggie) and knock these finals out!

So I have been working on this assignment ALLLL night. The assignment (called "Folio") was to create a layout of at least 8 photos from a shoot.
I'm just so excited about it!
Not only does she look GORGEOUS, Jessie was so generous to be my model and put up with all of my crazy instructions. I knew it was going to be a good day after the very first shot. Ok, enough of my gloating, here is the layout I worked up...
